GPF's Diane Wilhite named the Serve Illinois Governor's Volunteer Service Award Recipient

GPF's Diane Wilhite has been named the Serve Illinois Governor's Volunteer Service Award Recipient for East Central Illinois! This statewide award recognizes excellence in volunteer service to her community.

Diane Wilhite, Grand Prairie Friends Volunteer Coordinator

Diane has served as GPF's Volunteer Coordinator for many years in addition to lead roles in our Rattlesnake Master and Native Plant Sale. While nominated by GPF, her service extends far beyond GPF as a volunteer with the Humane Society, Champaign County Forest Preserve, INHS and Master Naturalist (among other community orgs). Diane truly dedicates the majority of each day to propel conservation, concern and education for/ of our natural world. We are very lucky to have her on the team!

Diane will be recognized in a ceremony at the Capital next week and her bio is up on the state website now.
