About the Event

Rescheduled from Apr 16 due to bad weather in the forecast.

This is a repeat of the hike happening on April 2nd. In case that walk was full or you couldn't make it, this is your second chance!

Here are just a few of the interesting things you’ll learn as you accompany local botanists (Nancy Coutant and Wilson Montgomery) on a guided walk on the trails of Warbler Ridge:

· See how many different mosses we can find and learn about the moss life cycle

· Find the early blooming liverleaf and discuss the "Doctrine of Signatures"

· Look for the edible spring beauty

· Examine the Christmas fern and learn why it has that common name

· Find sassafras trees and discuss "sassafras tea"

Wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared to walk on established trails with steep terrain.   Walking sticks are welcome.

Consider bringing a magnification device and camera.

You will be notified by email of cancellation due to weather.
