About the Event

Planting bare root trees is relatively easy.   Find a partner.   One person carries the trees and the other person makes a gash in the soil with a spade.  Slide the tree roots into the gash then gently press the soil down with your shoe.  Off you go to the next one. These trees were donated by Living Lands and Waters.

Meeting Place: Red barns at 17161 Daileyville Rd, Charleston. If you arrive late, a sign will be posted on the door with instructions.

Directions: Take Route 130 south from Charleston for 3 miles to Daileyville Rd.  turn right on Daileyville Rd (watch for the brown hiker sign).  Follow Daileyville Rd for about 1 1/2 miles until you see the parking lot on the right and the red buildings.

What to Bring: Appropriate clothing – long pants and shirt, work shoes, hat, and gloves.  Remember bug spray.  Tools will be available.

Covid 19 Adaptations: social distancing, no organized carpooling from C-U.
