About the event

Join us to steward and enjoy Warbler Ridge Conservation Area.

We are inviting volunteers to individually go out and tackle woody invasives such as honeysuckle, autumn olive, privet, and multi-flora rose in the focus areas at Warbler Ridge Conservation Area.

Loppers and herbacide will be needed.  If you need loppers and herbicide, please contact:

Jeff Peyton, Natural Areas Manager, at 217-714-4171 or jeff@grandprairiefriends.org

Terry Smith, Natural Areas Technician, at 217-512-9342 or  terrys1@consolidated.net

Some but not all can be pulled by hand.

A map of WRCA that shows the focus area and describes the invasives can be found here: WRCA INVASIVE FOCUS AREAS

If anyone has difficulty reaching Jeff or Terry or has questions, they can send an email to volunteer@grandprairiefriends.org

Directions: Take Route 130 south from Charleston for approximately 3 miles to Daileyville Road (CR 1470 North). A brown hiker sign is posted at Daileyville Rd.   Follow Daileyville road 1 1/2 miles to the gravel parking lot on the right.  You will see the red barn and shack.
