Spring Membership Meeting: Updated Threatened and Endangered Species

Spring is here! Join Grand Prairie Friends at the Champaign Public Library for our annual Spring Membership Meeting. For the first time in almost 40 years, Illinois has updated the state conservation status ranks of threatened and endangered plants. The update includes some plants not recorded in the state for decades and finds many that, while still threatened, are doing better than previously thought. Listen as Paul Marcum, a botanist for the Illinois Natural History Survey, walks us through these changes and what they mean for the flora of our beautiful state. All are welcome at this no-cost event. Light refreshments are provided.
