About the event
Join Grand Prairie Friends on an exciting and meaningful journey to support our partners from the Upper Sangamon River Conservancy and the Natural History Survey in conducting a crucial mussel survey in the Embarras River. This collaborative initiative aims to collect essential data on the area's mussel populations, which are key indicators of the river's health and biodiversity. We will meet at Warbler Crossing, and then proceed to enter the river at Blakeman Bridge. This event is specifically for adults, and participants should be ready for a hands-on experience lasting about 3 to 4 hours. While prior experience in surveying is preferred, it is not mandatory; we welcome individuals of all skill levels eager to learn and contribute.
