A great family friendly event for all ages!

 

The 26th Annual Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie includes a 10K and 5K run and 5K walk using chip timing to benefit Grand Prairie Friends. 

 

This race circles the beautiful 130-acre Meadowbrook Park and prairie in Urbana, Illinois.  The proceeds support Grand Prairie Friends, a non-profit organization committed to preserving and restoring tallgrass prairie and woodlands in east central Illinois for the benefit of endangered plants and animals.

 

Post-race activities include food, music, and race awards.  This 250-300 person race is one of the last runs of the season at a beautiful time of year.

VIRTUAL RACE - NEW THIS YEAR:

If you can't attend the race in person, support Grand Prairie Friends and participate in our virtual races.  Run the distance you want, where and when you want, between Oct 1 and Nov 3 and send us your time.  Virtual race times will be posted but not considered for medals. Runners registered by October 20, 2024 will receive a tshirt.

 

REGISTRATION:

• Runners can register online as late as 8:45am the morning of the race at  Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie (runsignup.com)
   

• Register online at  Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie (runsignup.com) starting at 3pm CST on August 19, 2024 until 8:45am the day of the race.
   

• Mail the registration form to:

• Register in person at Body n' Sole on Sat, Nov 2 from noon-4pm
   

• Or register and pay in person on race day between 8-8:45am at the Garden Pavilion in Meadowbrook Park.
   

• Shirts available for registrations received by Sunday, Oct 20, 2024

 

EVENT DETAILS & SCHEDULE:

Location: The race begins on Race St. near Clark-Lindsey Village (just south of Windsor Rd) and ends at the Garden Pavilion in Meadowbrook Park, Urbana, IL

 

Parking:  Paved parking lot by Garden Pavilion, on east side of Race St. just South of Windsor.  Paved parking lot by Meadowbrook Playground, on south side of Windsor. Grassy parking lot on the west side of Race St. immediately South of Windsor.  Please do not park in Clark-Lindsey Village parking lot.

 

Race Start Time:  Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 9:00am.  The 10K and 5K race start times will be slightly staggered to reduce congestion.

 

Course Information: The 5K race circles Meadowbrook Park.  The 10K race circles Meadowbrook Park and adjacent areas.  All races end in a trail run.

Packet Pickup: Race packets available noon-4pm on Saturday, November 2 at Body n’ Sole, 1317 Dunlap, Savoy, IL (217-356-8926). Packets also available on race day from 8-8:45am at the Garden Pavilion in Meadowbrook Park only (near the Race Street Parking lot).

 

Post Race Activities: Race awards and music at the Garden Pavilion. Food and beverage free to participants.

 

T-Shirts: Registrations received by Sunday, Oct 20 may opt for a t-shirt (unisex XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL).

 

Regulations:

• No dogs, strollers, or hiking poles.

• State and local COVID guidelines will apply.

• No refunds once registration is completed.
